Con men in khaki strike twice, dupe two elderly women of jewellery in Chandigarh : The Tribune India

Miscreants struck two times in a working day duping two aged women of all ages of their gold jewelry even though posing as policemen in separate incidents in Sectors 29 and 23. The law enforcement suspect it to be the handiwork of the exact same gang as a related modus operandi has been adopted in each incidents.

On her way again, she was approached by a guy expressing as snatching and theft incidents were on the increase, she must preserve her jewelry in a bag. The suspects pointed toward two policemen standing across the street, declaring they would enable her in placing the jewellery in her bag.
The target walked up to the two suspects, who taken out her gold ring and two gold bracelets and reportedly put these in her bag. On returning property, when the target checked the bag, she located the jewelry missing.
A scenario of cheating has been registered at the Industrial Space police station.
In the next incident, the miscreants qualified a 69-12 months-aged girl while she was returning from a temple in Sector 23. Complainant Santosh Kumari claimed whilst she was on her way to a temple, two suspects approached her expressing police officers preferred to discuss to her.
Two suspects posing as cops advised her about rise in incidents of snatching and requested her to eliminate jewelry and wrap it in a piece of paper. The target got tricked and eradicated her jewellery. She claimed the suspects swapped her jewellery and she learnt about it only on achieving dwelling. The jewelry wrapped in the paper turned out to be synthetic. A case has been registered at the Sector 17 law enforcement station. — TNS

This is the 3rd this kind of incident inside a thirty day period. On Nov 24, 4 suspects posing as cops tricked a 70-yr-aged girl and created off with her gold jewelry in Sector 22.
