TikTok is the source of so many trends lately that it’s hard to keep track of them, especially when it comes to the world of teenagers. The uber-popular app is the place for teen entertainment, food, viral dance and beauty trends, to name a few. But one scroll through any teen TikTok user’s feed and the first thing you’ll notice is fashion trends.

We got the inside word on teen TikTok fashion thanks to an actual teenager. Our teen consultant says the following fashion trends are what all the stylish TikTok creators are wearing. Hint: They’re heavy on ‘90s flavor with major influences from that era including pop star Britney Spears and the hit sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
1. Cloud slides
A quick search on the internet for Cloud Slides (they’re sometimes called Pillow Slides) will serve you with multiple versions of this super soft shoe that’s trending all over social media these days.
The synthetic foam slide features an extra thick and squishy sole, so each step feels like you’re walking on, well, a cloud. With lots of colors to choose from and an affordable price point, your teen can stock their closet with more than one pair.
2. Fun & quirky jewelry
For teens, jewelry packs a big punch. Not only can a unique pair of earrings, a dazzling necklace or a stack of bracelets add flair to their ‘fit, but it’s also something that won’t break their budget.
BaubleBar delivers when it comes to quality, one-of-a-kind pieces, especially since many of them can be customized with a name or meaningful word.
3. Peplum tops
Peplum tops are having a moment with teens on TikTok, possibly inspired by the cottagecore fashion wave that has been hitting since the Netflix show Bridgerton debuted.
These flowy blouses pair well with jeans, skirts and shorts to create a swoon-worthy outfit that’s worthy of fashion week.
4. Graphic T-shirts
Graphic T-shirts never really go out of style for teens, but young guys and girls are sporting them as loungewear as well as going-out wear.
The throwback versions are especially popular with TikTok stars, and Old Navy has a vast selection at affordable prices.
5. Casual button-down shirts
Teens who really enjoy fashion are pairing their graphic tees with a button-down shirt layered over it. It’s a way to mix and match prints, add a little more style to their look and also layer for cooler evening temps.
Pro tip for parents: let them leave it a bit wrinkled if they like, it’s the style.
6. Dresses with retro prints
Dresses aren’t just for dressing up and special occasions, they’re great for everyday wear, too. On TikTok you’ll find teens rocking mini, midi and maxi dresses while hanging out with friends, running errands, lounging around the house or in the backyard learning the latest dance trend.
What makes these dresses feel on trend are the prints—funky florals and geometric Y2K patterns are hot right now.
7. High-top sneakers
The classic Converse Chuck Taylor High Top Sneaker is a TikTok favorite lately—especially since the brand has been releasing so many variations on the classic.
From limited edition print accents to chunky platform soles to custom shoe interior designs, Converse doesn’t disappoint the teens as the “it” shoe.
8. Fear of God Essentials
Hands down, one of the viral TikTok trends for teens is snagging gear by Fear of God Essentials—and showing your followers what you got in your haul.
Since the luxury brand’s line of comfy sweats and T-shirts are now available at Nordstrom, they’re more accessible—but they’re still a bit pricey.

9. Chunky loafers
When they’re not wearing the latest trend in sneakers, teens on TikTok can be spotted in chunky-soled dad shoes or loafers. The chunkier the sole, the better.
We found a few great pairs of the style (also known as “creepers”) at ASOS for everyone.
10. Crochet
Definitely a nod to the craftcore aesthetic started in 2021, all the teen influencers are sporting crochet everything this year. From cropped tops, vests and dresses to pocketbooks and bucket hats, this knitwear in any pattern or color combination is winning.
Not sure how to incorporate this trend into your wardrobe? Try a simple bucket hat to begin.
11. Cargo bottoms
The cargo style of baggy pants or shorts with patch pockets along the leg are another teen TikTok trend that’s a hit for everyone. Teen girls are styling their cargos (sometimes from the men’s department) with cropped tops, sweatshirts, graphic T-shirts and even blazers, while teen guys are wearing their cargos with hoodie sweatshirts, and that graphic T-shirt and button-down combo.
12. Waist beads
A great thing that has come out of TikTok for teens is body positivity, so when it comes to trends in recent years, waist beads have gained popularity among young women on the app. They’re also referred to as belly beads, waistline beads or beaded waist chains.
In West African countries, waist beads are a symbol of femininity and spiritual well-being. Etsy has waist beads for under five dollars so our tween can try this trend without breaking the bank.
13. Retro logo baseball caps
Guys and girls are into most things retro, and baseball caps are an easy way to incorporate this style into their wardrobe. While the logo or brand is important when selecting a retro cap, it’s really all about the colorway and how the cap will coordinate with favorite items in their closet.
14. Feathers and fuzzy
As random as it may sound, feathers and fuzzy elements are big trends for teens on TikTok. Fashion has moved from minimalism to maximalism and teens are buying feather-embellished styles or going DIY by adding feathers (think: a feather trim) to tops, dresses, earrings and more.
A fuzzy crop top is the perfect way to combine two trends in one.
