– “Those Shoes” by the Eagles

If you are of a particular age and the woman persuasion, prospects are rather good there was a time in your life when 3-inch heels ended up a ought to.

They went wonderfully with fishnet or seamed stockings and ankle bracelets. Toe rings have been included if you wore open-toe or sandal-design shoes.

You almost certainly also know all the terms to the track higher than.

Shoes participate in a huge element in our life. People in the armed forces can see their reflection in their shoes when they have finished sharpening them.

The more youthful established is satisfied to spend hundreds of pounds for sneakers that advertise athletes.  A journey to DSW is my daughter’s preferred spot. She wants a closet just for her footwear and still normally wears the same types each day.

And then we have to have our sports sneakers for boating, boots for fishing and mountaineering, strolling, operating and monitor shoes, and of program our golfing and bowling footwear.

And really do not even get me commenced on the bedroom slipper styles…mules with large balls of fluff on leading – what were being we pondering?

We were being imagining glamor. We were considering pretty. We were imagining how considerably enjoyment it was to be a woman.

Fast forward a handful of many years and the picture adjustments. Fallen arches and smart footwear have grow to be our ton. So now we are the ones with arch supports, flat sneakers with gripping soles, and swollen ankles.

Well, the pleasurable has not stopped for absolutely everyone. A buddy of mine in Bisbee Arizona is rapidly starting to be a perfectly-acknowledged artist.  She has her have gallery, Belleza, in downtown Bisbee, a small but influential art colony.

She at first hails from Tacoma and attended St. Martin’s University adopted by Gonzaga Legislation College. Her very first profession was that of a profitable civil legal professional.

Lou Anne Sterbick-Nelson is hardly ever viewed with no her heels. Smooth and as glamorous these days as she was in her 20’s she is married to the really like of her daily life, Dennis Nelson. She waters her garden in her heels, paints incredible photographs in her heels, and shares her appreciate of existence with everyone she fulfills.

Now in her 70’s, Lou Anne is an inspiration to us all. Her hair is as blonde and beautifully but casually groomed as ever and I have prolonged suspected she wakes up in the morning with lipstick on.

Each individual year she travels to Mexico to acquire a lot more inspiration for her paintings and to meet new interesting people today. She usually travels to Europe on her individual.

She established a shelter for gals reuniting with their little ones less than court-requested supervision. I was honored to sit on her board.

Each year she and hubby Dennis rejoice their anniversary at Burger King, exactly where they celebrated their initial 1.

She encourages everybody she satisfies to be the best they can be by case in point and assistance. She is the epitome of human kindness.

But would she be as inspirational and interesting in flat shoes?

I assume so…but then she is one of a kind…and she understands what she’s gonna do in these shoes.
